It's been a really, really busy first quarter here at Unusual Rigging. In the blink of an eye, it's suddenly April. We're currently knee deep in organisation for two upcoming trade-shows – The #CT Show and ABTT, making plans for the stands and working on our annual show-reel of 'best-bits' and our Engineered Solutions brochure.

This is always a job that we look forward to – it allows us to take stock of all the amazing projects we've been involved with over the past year and to reflect on how very different they all are.

There are the big musicals in the West End and on tour such as Les Miserables, Matilda, Waitress and Come From Away which keep us extraordinarily busy with production rigging, automation, flying and scenic elements. Then there are the museums and galleries that have presented their own unique challenges – fortunately we're very good at devising ways to hang planes, aircraft....and giant slugs!!!

It's been an honour to be involved on some big televised awards ceremonies too – events like Sports Personality of the Year, The Laureus Awards and most recently the 2019 Olivier Awards. These really are spectacular events and the fact that we are brought on board year on year for the production rigging is something we're extremely proud of.

And not forgetting some of the amazing engineering project we've been a big part of too – there's always a few of these on the go at any one time. We're currently at the Theatre Royal on Drury Lane but it's been good to look back on the work we've done at Alexandra Palace, the Bristol Hippodrome and the Minerva Theatre in Chichester to name a few and to reveal a few details about our role as consultants and installers at the English National Ballet's new home on London City Island.

We hope you will enjoy looking at and watching these as much as we have enjoyed making them....
